a model human life

Role models are good to have in life.

3,500 years separate these 2 accomplished young women and Queen Hatshepsut, first female ruler of Egypt to reign as a pharaoh and “Foremost of Nobel Women.”

She erected this obelisk at the Temple of Karnak during her long reign, which is considered one of the most successful in Egyptian history. She undertook vast building projects which employed many people as well as developed trade among other nations. Her crowning achievement was her profitable expeditions to Punt (Somalia). “The loading of the ships very heavily with marvels of the country of Punt” is written in hieroglyph at her impressive temple, Deir-el-Bahri.

Queen Hatshepsut was quite the exemplary in politics, economics, human affairs, religion, and trade. Joseph Campbell, author and professor of mythology would say she made her own unique path, step by step. “When you have lived your individual life in your own adventurous way and then look back upon its course, you will find that you have lived a model human life, after all.”

Wishing you a model human life.
