Early Morning Trek to the Peak of Mt. Sinai and overnight at St. Catherine’s Monastery

We start our early morning ascent either by walking or riding a camel. Following the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims and travelers, we pause to read the stories of Moses and Elijah. Regardless of faith tradition, this remarkable landscape of frozen waves of granite has a way of moving the heart. After a careful descent, we have lunch at St. Catherine’s monastery, the world's oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery built in the 6th century CE. After an overnight within the monastery walls, we have an opportunity to see one of the greatest collections of ancient icons and manuscripts. For those who wish, we have the opportunity to attend a Greek Orthodox service within the ancient sanctuary beckoning us into moments of timelessness.
