Karnak Temple, Valley of Kings, and Hatshepsut Temple

Today we check into our Nile Cruise (5-star cruise ship) and visit several sites in Luxor. According to St. Bernard of Clairvaux “What is God? He is length, width, height, and depth” which also describes how the ancient Egyptians embodied spiritual knowledge and education into a specific science through the building of temples and tombs. The memorial temple of Hatshepsut not only honors the queen but is also a great architectural achievement resembling classical Greek architecture some 1,000 years later. The Valley of Kings is a royal burial ground constructed between 1539 and 1075 BCE. In Egyptian mythology, the King or Pharoah was asked to answer upon his death the 42 negative confessions (“I have not cursed God, I have not stolen, I have not slain”) upon which it is believed the 10 commandments may have been modeled.
