dreams of great journeys

“Come, come whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, yet again, come, come. “Rumi

Since I first started taking groups into the desert two decades ago, this quote by Rumi was a touchstone about who we are. All are welcome as family of our Bedouin friends and hosts. No one else offers what we do - genuine desert hospitality and the space to let the desert weave its magic.

An Arabic proverb is “all that is known is not told.”  That is because the desert is one of the greatest teachers as a mirror into the soul. It shows you not only your love and greatest attributes but also your growing edges.

Most stories I hear are about how our desert time, including Mt. Sinai, are unforgettable and transformative. Yvonne, a pilgrim from a 2018 journey, wrote, “The pilgrimage to Egypt was magical beyond what I could have dreamed…there are no words to describe the wonder and awe.”

Wishing you dreams of great journeys.
