moments of pleasurable imagination
“Imagination has no age and dreams are forever.” Walt Disney
Imagine sitting on the upper deck of a small cruise ship. The sun is setting beyond the Nile River and into the vast desert sands. The call to prayer is heard from the distant mosque perched alone at the end of a barren ridge. The young merchants selling Egyptian themed dresses and linens head home in their small dingy and wave goodbye until out of sight.
The many pieces of information on temples, gods and goddesses collected during the day begin to settle in the mind and shift into other ways of knowing.
The sensations of the warm sun’s rays subdue as a welcoming cool breeze plays upon the skin, creating a sense of aliveness.
The sight of the passing villages with their homes made of baked mud bricks, like in ancient times, stirs a feeling of witnessing history drift by.
The sounds of young boys laughing as they gather from swimming in the river to head home ignites an awe of our common humanity.
Like the ancient Pharaohs and dreamers, the first twinkling stars in the heavens fuel a deeper knowingness of participating in a great Cosmic Story.
Our bodies sink deeper into relaxation until a waft of delicious cooked food passes by and the rumbling stomach signals us to move towards eating, drinking, and enjoying the company of travel companions.
Wishing you moments of pleasurable imagination.
