true leadership
“In every head is some wisdom,” is an Arabic proverb.
Sheikh is an honorific title in the Arabic language and designates a ruler of a tribe. Commonly, the title is inherited from the father as in the case of Sheikh Suliman. He also oversees the use of the camels for tourist treks, ensuring that each family earns income by rotating who supplies the camels.
In the many years we have worked with Suliman, he is often serving us by loading and unloading the jeeps, preparing our food, cooking our food, serving our food and cleaning our sites when finished. Most of my photos are of Suliman in service with joy and generosity.
This photo shows one of the few times he is sitting on a throne as a ruler; calm, at peace and ready to assist at any moment.
His wisdom is in his humble and gracious service to all.
Another Arabic proverb says that if you live with him you prayest, thou prays, live with the singer, and thou singest (he does sing!) and I would add, be with a humble leader and thou learnest power.
Wishing you true leadership.
